Dwyer / Universal Flow Meters

    Dwyer / Universal Flow Meters

In 2021, Universal Flow Monitors was acquired by Dwyer Instruments, a global leader in designing and manufacturing innovative sensors and instrumentation solutions for the IAQ, building automation, and process automation markets. Centro is proud to distribute the Dwyer Rocon - Delta Point Manifold Flow Sensor.

Automotive manufacturers rely on water savers to ensure that their robotic welders use the right amount of water while welding and don't overheat. Rocon Watersavers from Dwyer offers superior performance, high efficiency, and improved safety features compared to standard water savers.

The Dwyer Rocon - Delta Point Manifold Flow Sensor is used in resistance welding cells. Delta point protects the quality of critical welds by monitoring cooling water to weld tips and transformers. The heart of the system is two vortex-shedding flowmeters tuned at every point to match each other's calibration. Delta flowmeters measure flow by frequencies of vortices and have no moving parts to stick or jam. The result is high reliability and low maintenance.

Due to water conditions, competing water savers that use mechanical flowmeters are easily fouled by particulate or coating. The delta point monitors flow into and out of the cell. A fault command is sent to the robot in case of a leak, and the flow is shut off. Variation in overall flow will not cause a false trip because the in and out flow remains consistent. Output options include simple switching contact for DeviceNet protocol. Optional alarm outputs are available for low-flow or overheated water, possibly leading to poor cooling. The Delta Point Rocon is often a replacement for inferior mechanically based systems.
