Memphis, TN, June 20, 2014 – Memphis Business Journal ranked Centro, Inc. the 89th Top Private Company for 2012-2013, as well as the 7th Fastest Growing Private Company in the Memphis Metropolitan Area.
The Memphis Business Journal (MBJ) publishes an annual list of the top 100 private companies in the Memphis Metropolitan Area based on gross revenue along with a list of the fastest growing private companies in Memphis.
In last year's 2011-2012 top business edition, MBJ included Centro in its “Just off the List” section. However, for this year’s issue MBJ named Centro the 89th Top Private Company with gross revenues of $55.82 million.
Concerning the importance of being on the list, Centro President and CEO, Michael Gallagher, commented, “Business and life are successful if planned as a series of goals. Being on the list is feedback we can measure ourselves by. It tells us whether or not we are on track to meet our future goals. Being 89th also recognizes our employees are doing the right things and working hard.”
MBJ also declared Centro the seventh fastest growing company with a 34.51% growth rate during 2012-2013. In explaining this rapid growth, Gallagher said, “In 2012 we acquired seven companies. That was the source of instant and major growth, but the true question was: could we make it last? In the 2012-2013 business year, we had all that growth because we kept it working and integrated the companies in the right way. Our branches not only worked together, they fitted together.”
While Centro’s growth is just now being formally recognized, it is nothing new. Centro has grown about 425% since Michael Gallagher and Dave Forell took control of the company in 2002. Centro is also on track to meet its sales goals for the current year.
5-year goals for Centro include: having $80 to $90 million in gross annual revenue, growing employment opportunities, and doubling or tripling eCommerce revenue.
