Centro Inc. is one of the finalists for the Memphis Business Journal's annual Small Business Awards in the 61+ Employee category. We have had two years of back-to-back growth. We completed the acquisition of seven companies in 2012, which grew Centro’s sales in 2012 to $41.4 million. Our integration of those companies in 2013 also stimulated growth, increasing our sales to $55.8 million. We also plan to add complementary product lines, new employees and implement a number of training programs.

At the 36th Small Business Awards Michael Gallagher, CEO of Centro, Inc., took home the Executive of the Year Award. Gallagher has lead Centro since purchasing it in 2001. During that time the company has grown steadily making key acquisitions across the southeast. As CEO Michael has guided Centro to win the Small Business of the Year award in 2012 and cracking the Top 100 privately held business list in 2014. Congratulations Mr. Gallagher on a well-deserved honor.

The third time was the charm for Centro Inc. at Memphis Business Journal's 32nd Small Business Awards program held May 24.
Centro president Michael Gallagher accepted the award for the 21-75 employee category. Centro had been nominated in two previous Small Business Awards competitions in different categories. Centro is a sales representative and distributor for valves, pumps, mixers and other products for the flow control industry.

David Forell, vice president and CFO ofCentro Inc., won in the $10 million to $50 million category. Forell and partner Mike Gallagher purchased Centro, a distributor of flow control products, in 2001.  In addition to his employees, Forell thanked his wife “who asked me nine years ago why not buy a company in Memphis instead of moving from Memphis.”
